چکیده

Following Sugihara 23], we represent the geometric constraints imposed by the line-drawing of a polyhedron as a set of linear equalities and inequalities. Unlike him, we explicitly take into account the uncertainty in vertex position. This allows us to circumvent the superstrictness of the constraints without deleting any of them. For a given error bound, deciding whether a line-drawing is the correct projection of a polyhedron is reduced to linear programming, and 3D shape recovery is reduced to optimization under linear constraints. Our method can be used for recovering the shape of any polyhedral object whose reeectance can be modelled accurately. We have implemented it for the Lambertian model and the Lambertian model with interreeections. We present results obtained using real images.

On the Optimum Die Shape in Rod Drawing Process Considering Work-Hardening Effect of Material

The assessment of the influence of the work-hardening of material on the optimum die profile and drawing force  in rod drawing process is the main objective of the present paper. The upper bound solution, based on the assumption of perfect plasticity, has been extended to consider the work-hardening of the material during the rod drawing process through curved dies. Analytical results of drawin...

Optimum Tailor-welded Blank Design Using Deformation Path Length of Boundary Nodes

In this paper, the optimum shape of Tailor-Welded Blanks (TWB) is investigated. The optimization is performed for two different case studies. The first example is deep drawing of a TWB with dissimilar materials and uniform thicknesses and the next example is deep drawing of a TWB with similar materials and non-uniform thicknesses. The effect of blank optimization on the weld line movement is...

Time-Discontinuous Finite Element Analysis of Two-Dimensional Elastodynamic Problems using Complex Fourier Shape Functions

This paper reformulates a time-discontinuous finite element method (TD-FEM) based on a new class of shape functions, called complex Fourier hereafter, for solving two-dimensional elastodynamic problems. These shape functions, which are derived from their corresponding radial basis functions, have some advantages such as the satisfaction of exponential and trigonometric function fields in comple...

Evaluation of Forming Severity and Thickness Variation in Deep Drawing Process

This paper presents a new methodology for complete solution of general shape deep drawn parts. Evaluation of forming severity, estimation of the punch load and prediction of the thickness variation are the major results obtained in this work. The punch work is the summation of the homogenous work of flange deformation and bending and frictional works. To evaluate the strain energy of the flange...
